Not reading CSS files

maxgayo / 2010-10-09 18:24:48

Hello everybody. I searched around to see if this was already discussed, but found no results.

I have changed my domain but am keeping the hosting company. I removed the indexhibit files off the previous site from the server, including the databases. Then, created a new database and placed new indexhibit files to start a new installation.
Now, I have no problems in the setup process, but this time something has changed. The text has no format, everything is in Times 12pt and not organised like it should. Ndxz-studio is completely messed up.
I came to think that the problem was that the clean files I had from indexhibit were corrupted or something, so I downloaded again. Problem was not solved.
Then verified if css files were omited while being copied to the server. But they were all there.
I don't know what could be the problem or what am I doing wrong. I started learning website building since 2 months ago so...

My website is maxgayo.com.ar
Thank you for any help you can give me!

Hey max,

Make sure the that the url to your stylsheet is correct you have in your index.php:

  1. < link rel='stylesheet' href='http://www.maxgayo.com.ar/ndxz-studio/site/eatock/style.css' type='text/css' />

but there is no stylesheet at that location.

Also if you are gonna modyfy the site it's better to use the "sample " temlate instead of "Eatock"

Thank you for your response. I really don't know what's going on here.
Css files are where they are supposed to. I can access and edit those files from dreamweaver, but using RapidCSS it says it can't open that location (it could before, with the previous domain, on the previous indexhibit installation).
I know the problem is something like the index file not able to access .css, but I'm lost here. Maybe when changing domains something was not properly set, but still I don't know what to ask to the hosting company.
I want to try changing the url from the index file from eatock to sample, but I'm not sure exactly where to edit this.
Thank you for any help you cand give me.

Hey max, have you made sure that all the permissions of files and folders are set as it says in the Install Guide?

To change the theme you just need to go to Exhibits > Settings and put yourself in Advanced Mode. Then, switch the template to Sample.

Thanks blameme.
I started a new, clean installation, following all the steps in the install guide, and making sure all files where copied. I even created new databases. No luck at all. The site still has the same unformated look.
Once in ndxz-studio, I switched to Advance mode and changed to Sample, but had no results.
I work with Opera in WinXp. I tried Firefox and Safari in Mac just to check but it was the same.
This is weird...
If anyone wants to see, I didn't change the installation's original username and passcode.

You should have this and this file... apparently it seems your missing files...

maxgayo / 2010-10-14 21:12:06

That's actually the point, those files are there. Also folders have the permissions the should. I can't realise where is the problem..?

arsondpi / 2010-10-14 21:58:13

Can you reupload some of these files...? See if that works....
