Ok let's see if I can explain my problem. I'll try to go step by step:
1.My URL (www.johnnewtondesign.com) was going straight to my "Biography" page. I made a new home page in what I believe was the default "home" exhibit (it was hidden). Turned the "Hide from index" to off.
2.The URL was still directing you to the "Biography" page. But "Home" was now an option in the About section.
3. I figured the easiest thing to do was just put the "Home" content into the "Biography" and change the exhibit title to Home. Then do the reverse and change the "Home" to contain the biography content and change the name.
4. After all of that IT WORKED!... But only on the computer I did all the work on. But I've learned always look at it on multiple machines and browsers. I looked at it on my desktop and the site didn't have a "Home" link in the nav and the main URL was going back to the "Biography".
5. I cleared my cookies, cache, history and restarted my browser. Then IT WORKED!... Until I navigated away from the homepage. I tried on yet another computer and it worked. Today I had my friend look at it on his machine and it was the old "Biography" homepage with no home link (he had visited it the site before). He tried on a PC he had behind him and IT WORKED! Had another friend test it and it didn't work.
So that's the problem, I can't figure out why it won't show my new homepage. Or why sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't.
The link to my site is www.johnnewtondesign.com (maybe you won't even be able to see the problem). If it works the new home page is just images that scroll horizontally with tags in the top left corner saying "recent work" or "coming soon".
Note: Sorry about the long post, I was just trying to provide as much background as possible.
