2 times Indexhibit possible?

666bob / 2010-11-25 04:38:05

Hey,

My server (only one data base) provides two different domains and I want to use Indexhibit for both of them. I created two different folders for each website in my FTP program (CyberDuck) and uploaded Indexhibit in each folder.

I thought this way I can work in Indexhibit on both websites separately but for some reason it does't not work that way. If I change one thing on one of the two Indexhibit accounts, it changes it on both websites.

Does anyone have i clou what I'm doing wrong?
Or is it just not possible to use Indexhibit two times with one data base server?

Tanks for helping me!

yes it´s possible. All you have to do before you install the second indexhibit, is to change the database prefix on line 19 to the one you want in your ndxz-studio/defaults.php
\nexample:

\n\n
    \n
  1. // database prefix
  2. \n
  3. define(\'PX\', \'raumzwei_\');
  4. \n
\n\n

I changed in ndxz-studio/defaults.php the prefix:

\n\n

define(\'PX\', \'idxz_\');

\n\n

to

\n\n

define(\'PX\', \'raumzwei_\');

\n\n

...and uploaded the indexhibit to cyperduck.

\n\n

When I open the browser to start indexhibit, it says: \"Database is not installed\".

\n\n

Could you describe it a bit more in detail what I have to do, please? I\'m really not into that whole programing thing. I\'m just trying to learn it...

\n\n

Thanks a lot so far!

Hey,

\n\n

first you have to change the prefix.
\nsecond upload the indexhibit folder with your changed defaults.php to your server.
\nthird, go with the browser to your folder like this: http://www.deineseite.de/deinordner/ndxz-studio/install.php

\n\n

Then follow the install instructions :)

You have to do a fresh installation of indexhibit but with the changed Prefix it won´t override your current database tables.

\n\n

Again on German:
\nNochmal auf Deutsch:

\n\n

Also einfach eine frische Installation von Indexhibit in einem anderen Ordner machen. Damit das system nicht deine aktuellen Tabellen aus der Datenbank nutzt musst du das Prefix in der defaults.php vorher ändern.

\n\n

Hoffe das hilft :)
\nhope that helps.

\nThanks a lot G470!
\nNow everything seams to be sooo simple but it took me weeks to understand this whole CMS thing :)
