Viewing Uploaded Images - problems

Alex_1026 / 2011-03-07 16:58:51

Hi -

I'm having trouble viewing uploaded images.

They upload fine, and appear as thumbnails in the back end - but don't appear on the actual site.

Example:
http://www.alexlukas.com/inprint/juxtapoz/

When set to slideshow correct number of images are there in the previous/next buttons
(Two images uploaded: " Prev | Next 1/2 ")

But when set to djuvcinebasic the following error appears:

Warning: getimagesize(/home/cantabpu/public_html/alexlukas/files/gimgs/62_lukasjuxt02.jpg) [function.getimagesize]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/cantabpu/public_html/alexlukas/ndxz-studio/site/plugin/exhibit.djuvcinebasic.php on line 60

Warning: getimagesize(/home/cantabpu/public_html/alexlukas/files/gimgs/62_lukasjuxt01.jpg) [function.getimagesize]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/cantabpu/public_html/alexlukas/ndxz-studio/site/plugin/exhibit.djuvcinebasic.php on line 60

It has worked fine in the past - and the rest of the site works great - so I must be doing something wrong?

Any help would be most appreciated.

Alex

actually this is not there...

Right - the images are not there. But the thumbnails show up on the back end as uploaded when I am editing the entry.

Maybe I am not describing the problem correctly?

Thanks in advance.

I was looking also for the system thumbnail and couldn't find it... did you refresh your backend page?

Alex_1026 / 2011-03-09 11:11:05

yeah, refreshed the backend page and made sure it was saved.

Tried again this morning - created a new entry and re-uploaded all the images - and thought everything was working - but then when I checked back a few hours later the images had disappeared.

They still show up on the back end -
(screen shot -
http://www.cantabpublishing.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/ndxzproblem.jpg )

and when set to slideshow it recognizes the right number of images uploaded - (example with five images uploaded
http://www.alexlukas.com/inprint/juxtapoz-2/ )

but it doesn't show them.

Is this a permissions problem? Or an uploading problem? I can upload fine using the Files Manager button - and the image shows up - but not when uploading using the Upload button.

Grumble grumble grumble

Thanks Ricky.

weird... sounds like a server problem. are you running out of webspace by any chance?
I don't know what else to say, hope someone else can help you better than me...

Hey, my buddy Clint sent me an email and told me I should ignore you on the forum. What''s up with that? ;)

This is very weird. Are you out of space on your server? Check the permissions on the files...but if the system thumbnails work then it should be working just fine. Other pages on your site work without problem...

Hello,
I'm having the same problem. I had no issues with this before when I set my site up earlier this month. Today I went to change my 'home' page image to a new one. The browser finds the image, it uploads and shows the thumbnail and I can see the page with image when I click on preview. But when I go to my site and refresh the home page, I only see the text and caption- no image.
I haven't changed anything- I haven't even touched it in a couple weeks. Ideas?

Thanks,
Sarah

Oh, a couple things- the images are really small so I don't think file size is an issue, 381k. I tried to set up a new page and the same thing happened.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Sarah

Code looks like this (had to remove < to post the code):
p img src='http://wiesedruck.com/files/gimgs/1_bramblehedgesdetail.jpg' alt='' / br /
span sumi ink on dyed kozo paper, 2011  /span
/p

instead of this (from a different page that I did before):
a href='http://wiesedruck.com/files/gimgs/5_cover.jpg' title='Cover and slipcase' class='thickbox' rel='gallery-plants' img src='http://wiesedruck.com/files/gimgs/th-5_cover.jpg' alt='book bound in flax by Cave Paper' height='200' / /a

381k is more than double what the filesize should be.

Update: I fixed the problem I was having with uploading images. The new Firefox 4.0 browser doesn't work with uploading images to indexhibit. I'd built my site then upgraded Firefox and shortly after went to add onto my site and this problem arose. Safari doesn't work for me either but Chrome works great.
Hope this is helpful.

Incorrect information - disregard their post. And stop crossposting now wiesedruck!

It works just fine on those browsers and I know because I have tried it. Something is clearly wrong at your end - and it's probably as simple as some kind of browser or router caching issue.

Sorry- I was just trying to help. I'm really new at all this. Thanks for the suggestion.

Just because my car doesn't start doesn't mean that all cars don't start. Believe, me a ton of people are using things successfully on those browsers - it's not even a question.

So I have a similar problem...I think.
I'm desperate and on a serious timeline at this point.

here is a link to my page: http://nickolusmeisel.com/indexhibitv070e/index.php?/project/cloud-haiku-2008-2011/

I put some code into the image description long ago attempting to make a link. (from the indexhibit upload screen) and now I can't get rid of it. the edit button appears but it won't allow me to do anything. I tried to just delete the page it was on (which happened to be my index page) I attempted to delete it through phpmyadmin. When I delet the page with a problem the error code from the original problem seems to follow me to my new index page.

In case the link doesn't work: the error code says:"... "/gimgs/1_5.jpg) [function.getimagesize]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/content/m/e/i/meisel/html/indexhibitv070e/ndxz-studio/site/plugin/exhibit.djuve.php on line 61)? or at least what I can see of the code as it seems to wrap under my left toolbar.

Please somebody put me out of my misery!!!

@redbuddha - why are you posting in this thread? the subject is quite different from your issue...
from what you say you could have more luck if you post or search the forum for lost/deleted main page or even using the error as keywords.
tons of answers for your issue here around...
;-)
