uploading photos problem

pinkbutter / 2011-09-26 15:03:22

hey guys,

i've made a few indexhibit sites now, and for some reason, the one i am working on at the moment is not uploading the photos into the exhibitions. i am doing the usual where i click on browse, select the photo to upload, and it show up on the right. however, in the next step, when i press "upload", it just says "no images" underneath, and there are indeed, no images that appear.

why is this happening? how can i fix it?

heres the site:

thanks a bunch in advance!

I can't find a link back to indexhibit. Please read the forum rules, thank you

@pernin: the link is there ;-)
@pinkbutter: did you try to search the forum?
there are a lot of threads on this subject and reading could help you to better define your problem.
i.e. is this happening in a free hosting service? the images are too heavy? are you uploading "real" images from your system? are they RGB or CMYK? ...

sorry, I'm blind ;)

If this is a new build I'd bet that the files are not fully uploaded yet. Reupload the /ndxz-studio/asset/ folder (everything in them). Do a shift + browser refresh afterwards...see what happens.

@rickykappa: the files are all around 235 kb. as for the hosting service, the client's dad has his own server in his house that hosts the site -- perhaps this is related to the problem? i've looked around but i havent found any solutions to this prob.

@vaska: i tried re-uploading and it didnt work :/ same problem.

ill keep looking for more threads on this topic.. any other suggestions?

thanks guys :)

235kb is far too big - should be under 150kb.

Try a tiny image and see if it works.

The clients dad has is own server that hosts the site

Yeah, that could be a big problem.

hey vaska,

i tried images under 150kb and they are still not showing up after i hit upload.

do you know why having their own server is problematic? theyve hosted online magazines and stuff through his server in the past so i dont know why this is a problem. i just need to know the right stuff to ask him or tell him to either fix it or convince him to get server space elsewhere.

thanks :)

I'm having a similar issue where I hit upload image and it shows but the bar stays gray and never allows the percentage of upload to show.

so it is not possible to upload pictures bigger than 200kb? thats what indexhibit says to me....

You are posting in a version 1 thread. Please consider where you are posting. And, I have already answered this question many times lately (have a look around the forum).

it doesn't seem a bad thing to keep it under 150kb. But is there a way to show high resolution photo's, let's say 1800x1200, without too much compression...

This thread has been closed, thank you.
