Splash page URL Question

bws / 2011-09-28 15:10:29

Trying to set up a site for my daughter, Site
Don't know why she wants a splash page but she does and it seems to work fine but I am not sure if the URL is correct. After you enter the address is http://www.tiffany-street.com/www.tiffany-street.com/home.php

Firebug also throws this error: "NetworkError: 404 Not Found - http://www.tiffany-street.com/www.tiffany-street.com/home.php"

Everything seems like it works but I am not sure about the URL and the Firebug error.

Thanks for the help

hi, don't worry too much about daughters' requests... ;-)
you currently have http://www.tiffany-street.com/index.php
which is the correct standard indexhibit homepage and your splash page is
http://www.tiffany-street.com/index.html
useless to have a home.php
that's all...

Thank you, they do request alot.

I read that you had to have home.php when useing a splash page, should I change it?

http://www.tiffany-street.com/www.tiffany-street.com/home.php just seemed weird. I kind of thought it would just add /home.php to the end.

I assume the firebug error is nothing to get concerned about either?

haven't seen a post on this since v2. any reason a link from a static splash page to the root index.php shouldn't work in v2?

Essentially, this is generating not found errors on my domain.

the webhosts are telling me that the server is showing:
malformed header from script. Bad header=Not Found: index.php.

After several rounds with their very nice tech support people, it seems clear that a) this is not a problem with my server's configuration etc. or b) they have no idea what they are doing.

i'm kind of hoping for some "it could be this" responses rather than expecting someone to necessarily solve this for me...
