clean urls - again

hi,

tried the trick with the tutorial several times.
however, when i hide the htaccess by putting the dot, my site disappears altogether.
when htaccess is unhidden, and i change the modrewrite to true, i get clean urls but without any contents. the only thing i see normal is my root page, all other pages can be clicked, and give a clean url in the address bar, but there is nothing of the contents visible. (now i changed it all back to messy urls... - http://apiary.be)

any hints?

thanx

Well, that means that the default htaccess setup isn't working - some hosts are like that - it has to do with their setup.

The most common change to the htaccess file is to put a /index.php in the last rule.

thanx,
oh, that's a bit sad.
