Indexhibit Support

I have been trying to publish videos ( vimeo or youtube) on my projects section. When I copy the url code on the textbox the preview button seems to be unabled. that means i click but there is no click. :P Also, when I try to embed the video through the vimeo / youtube little buttons it opens up a window saying that i am forbidden to access /ndxstudio/ on this server. I have sent the copy of the little window to my server. But meanwhile, since yesterday also researching at the forum, it occured to me that it might be a bug or what??? Can anyone help me with this?

That doesn't sound like a bug - it sounds like your host has some mod_security rules that are blocking you. Tell them about the problem and ask them if they have some rules that are blocking things (it's more common than you would think).

Hmmm Vaska, now my server says the message (forbidden to access) is probably comming from Vimeo. Apparently there is no restriction from the server. They told me I should try youtube, i did again, and the same trouble happens again. Did I forget something???

I pasted the code and it seems to be working as a link on this page...whatever, now I am asking myself how to show the code without it being automatically converted to a link. Still learning how to ask questions.

It's fixed. You had odd permissions on some folders...

still I can't publish, Vaska. can't link vimeo.

:o guess i'm changing the issue to customization forum. at this point i wonder if i should find a friendly videoplayer to exhibit the videos. lots of my website contents will be displayed on video anyway. as this vimeo/youtube thing doesn't seem to be working. i have no idea but i have time!

What do you mean you can't publish? You don't need to link to them - they are built-in to the formats.

so missed something. cause:
- paste the code given by vimeo on the text field
- click on text processing (?)
- click on preview
- nothing happens
or
- click on little vimeo thing on upload/import
- paste vimeo code for my video + size
...that little window with no permission to acess from this server just like before.

am i not doing something obvious?

I just want to insert the video. Should I change the http address that appears on the upload box? how do i do this? via ftp? :P

Would somebody show me a light, give me a hint, please? I have tried it with the demo version, it also does not work, unless for the preview that is working - but the video does not run. I am searching all over since 3 days. Please, help!

It works just fine on the demo - I've done it and seen others do it. How about trying a different browser and seeing if anything changes.

It would also be helpful if you showed us the video that 'does not run' with a link.

Did you see the example url on the page - you don't input the entire iframe code into that space - only the url.

Certainly, it's a bug that it's not taking out all of that iframe code (I'll look at it later) but all you need is the actual url. I just posted a video to that demo page...no problem with only the url.

Here is the feedback so: now with chrome i was able to insert the archives on the edit page, up to the point to see them as little squares under the text area. clicking to preview mode would eventually take me to the page but nothing was there to be seen. also when i click to view the source file, in case of the movie, that is the notice: Not Found

The requested URL /files/44219072.vimeo was not found on this server.

Hey, Did you ever figure this out? I've been having the same problems.

When I try to embed the video, I'm unable to save or preview the page.

If I use the Vimeo plugin, I only get the error screen.

I've compressed the videos as much as possible, and contacted my host.
