Official video support

I remember to have read something about the possibility to upload and reproduce video with Indexhibit2. What are the official features with video (format, player, etc.)

I uploaded a mp4 file (and in case also a cover image with the same file name), but get this error when clicking on the grey video preview box:

Fatal error: Call to a member function add_lib_js() on a non-object in ndxzsite/plugin/plugin.formats.php on line 144

Did you update your files (we released new ones last week)?

geraldo / 2012-07-10 23:01:23

I'm running a fresh 2.0.1

The reference to jwplayer looks like the use of the famous player. Which version should appear, html5 or flash?

We have it set to show Flash first and html5 for iPad/etc.

Upload the new /ndxzsite/plugin/plugin.formats.php file - I bet this resolves things.

Where do I get the new plugin.formats.php file? The one in the last download image is from 2012-05-29

Download the latest set of files from our site...

The latest download (2.0.1) contains the version of plugin.formats.php which I'm using (2012-05-29), so it seems to have a bug or the video I'm using is not supported. But the file playes fine with a local version of jwplayer. Any idea?

Just tried the same files (mp4 and flv) on your demo page and same error shows up: two.indexhibit.org/me/video-test/

The demo is not updated...

Do you have recommendations for video format, compression procedure, max size, etc. so that the files can run on Indexhibit? Some QuickTime files I tried to upload did not make it past the error signal.

I'll ask our video guy to write up some basic info...

also,

What version of longtail Jwplayer is used? Is it the version described on their website as "completely customizable with our PNG skinning model and renowned JavaScript API."?

(I removed my earlier post on the topic since someone already asked the question here, and redundancy is not good for the forum)
