What are the size dimensions to a larger Horizontal gallery height 701

Ginasinotte / 2012-08-21 23:28:27

I am having troubles uploading clear non pixelated images to my Hotizontal gallery. What are the dimensions to the Horizontal index exhibit gallery at the height of 701?

You didn't need to start a new thread...

Your question doesn't make sense - at a height of 701 pixels your images are resized proportionally. If you uploaded a small image it can not scale up the image - it would be pixellated. You can simply upload a larger image...

Hello,
Well when I upload a larger image it says it is to big... Is there some exact dimension I can go by for my images? I tried sizing them all at 700 pix and they are to large...
Thanks
Gina

By 'to big' you mean the system told you it would not upload it?

Hello,
Well I did a bunch of trial and error with the sizing of my images. I still feel that they are pixelated. Not to sure what else to do... Please try to give me some image sizes that will work for the site!
Thanks

But, can you answer my question above?

Hi! I would like to ask why some of my images are blurry and some are not... I am trying to size the vertical images appropriately. But some are blurry... What are the exact size dimensions to an image for them to be larger and not pixelated?
Thanks!
Gina

Upload your images larger or equal to the size you want them to show up (in px)
If you're a Photoshop user use the Save for web and devices option to get the best result for web use.
If you are having problems uploading larger images (in Kb) then check these threads and adjust accordingly (don't go over the top as you may have server issues):

Thank you! I read the other links you posted on the other peoples problems with their images. I would like to keep the site fast and easy to look at!
I have tried all sorts of sizes but I am still unable to see my images in the gallery clear.
Please take a look at my Fashion page : ginasinotte.com/test2012/index.php/fashion/

The images are totally pixelated. I have tried saving for the web and I am getting the same pixelated results. My dimensions of an image in Photoshop are
width 255 pixels x height 383 also known as 9cm x 13.51cm @72 res
I am not sure why the images are still pixelated. I have tried so many different size variations and I just can't get them to be clear. Please let me know if you can help me! Thanks!!

The threads I posted above are in Kb - that is how much disk space an image takes up, not its size or resolution dimension.

I understand 200 kb is the space is takes up and even when my images are less than 200kb they still are blurry. I guess I am just unsure how to get them to look crisp.
Do you think I need to increase my KB in the back end default max size? Maybe that will make my Horizontal photos not pixelated.

Thanks for your help!

I just figured it out! I was optimizing the images to small. I made the images larger and saved them for web. They look way better. I have not had to do that with my other websites but I did help a lot. Thanks!

My first response from five months ago pointed that out...
