XX Check Config!!!

seancflaherty / 2012-08-25 23:31:51

Thanks in advance for the help,
I am on a mac, using cyber duck and both the domain and hosting are with go daddy.

the files were transferred, the permissions changed, the SQL with remote access created and I have gotten to the last php page.

datebase server = hoeber2.db.9785536.hostedresource.com
datebase name = hoeber2
datebase username = hoeber2
pass= XXXXXXX
database append= ndxbt_

I am getting the XX check config error every time.

I even redownloaded and reuploaded all the files. PLEASE HELP!

Also, I have called godaddy sever times and they tell me everything is working on their end.

...but did you ask them if you have the right database details?

hoeberstudio / 2012-08-26 22:34:23

Hi Arsondpi,
Yes they told me that my database server is correct

hoeberstudio / 2012-08-26 23:53:03

Ok Update, It worked when a friend of mine did it on his computer with the exact same information I was using.

Do you know why it would not work for my computer? But it did work for him with the same information?

Thank you in advance, Its so bitter sweat that I dont know why its working.

I've seen this before on windows users. Sometimes browsers auto-correct input boxes with stuff that has been typed before - honestly don't have a clue why this is happening.

I'm having the same issue as Sean.

I'm on a Mac using Fetch (not sure if that matters). I attempted the install on a windows as well.

Also using GoDaddy with updated permissions.

I see that you had no clue what the issue was a month ago... any updates?

after double checking all the copy pasting it seems that the Database Server Address box is not big enough to fit the entire address " s88421.gridserver.com/.tools/phpMyAdmin/current/ "

We have many clues - and there are many threads around here (if you search) that resolve this issue. You must have the correct db connection info or it will not work - double check the settings with your webhost.

right, but if my Database Server Address is too long to fit into the input box then what am I supposed to do? I attempted a bitly URL. But it didn't work out.

It's not too long...

GR4Y50N / 2013-01-02 21:53:23

s88421.gridserver.com/.tools/phpMyAdmin/current/

GR4Y50N / 2013-01-02 21:53:52

s88421.gridserver.com/.tools/phpMyAdmin/current/

lol, sorry, its excluding the https://

You don't need to post that. I don't understand why you are doing that...

If you would confirm your connection data with your host - that's the next step.
