000webhost 404 error on install page

hello everyone,

i've tried using the installation guide a few times to try and get indexhibit installed but am having no luck.

every time i go to the install page i am redirected to a 404 error page, at first i thought it was a case of waiting for my domain name to change over with my hosting, but when i view my website i can see an index?

genusoxalis.co.uk is my site.

the only other thing i have noticed is that in filezilla the values sometimes change back from 777?

really at a loss here and hope someone can spot where i am going wrong.

thanks!

First of all your index.php and htaccess files from the root folder seems to have a ._ prior to their namefiles... (genusoxalis.co.uk)
Rename or reupload that one appropriately: index.php and .htaccess (will the fullstop before the h)

Your install page is here:
genusoxalis.co.uk/ndxzstudio/…
Unless you mean that you input your database details and you can't finish installation...?

thanks for the link and the fast reply. and yes the problem seems to be that my database details give me the message "xx check config" wondering if i'm tying in the wrong thing here. i have been using the same information i put into filezilla to connect. is this right?

No, that's FTP information. If you don't know your database information ask your host for help/directions on how to find it (it's in your hosting control panel).

okay. i have that sorted now and have finished the installation (many, many thanks) however my page is still an index instead of a page. will this change as i edit the site?

Your 'index.php' page is named '.index.php' - you need to upload the index.php page that was delivered with Indexhibit to that space.
