Trouble with images and admin panels

jlmurtaugh / 2012-09-18 19:48:04

There is a problem suddenly with some of the backend features. Namely, in an exhibit, when I click the "upload" button, the window shades but no dialog menue pops up to upload images.

Also – in the admin panel when clicking "plugins", "assets", "settings" or "users", it oddly redirects me to the frontend index page.

I've tried different browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, IE), different IPs, and cleaned my cache several times with no change. I also have replaced the javascript directory in "assets" with the downloaded backup version, thinking it could be a problem there.

The site is jlmurtaugh.com. Any help provided is greatly appreciated.

I would like to look at this - can you send me your FTP and Indexhibit login information?

Hi, I'm having this problem too.

I have just installed 2.0 and was about to start building my site.

When I go to a section and hit 'Upload' or any of the 'Options' buttons my screen shades over in an opaque light grey. That's it and I have to click back arrow on my browser to get out of that screen.

Any help would be appreciated.

@kmwork: your problem is not the same as the previous poster. I've looked into his problem and we're pretty sure it's a mod_security issue (still waiting to hear back).

You might have an issue with javascript either being bunched up or the files did not fully upload at installation (this happens a lot). Try going to the edit page and hold down the Shift key and refresh the browser with the mouse a few times. Then, see if it works...and let us know.

Hi, I just v2.0.1 fresh last night and ran into the same problems KMWORK and jlmurtaugh, where as the links in the admin panel ("plugins", "assets", "settings", "users") lead to the index page. In addition the "create" exhibit link, and the upload/options links in the existing default exhibits lead to a dimmed screen with no options popping up.
I did try testing this in chrome, firefox, and safari, and the shift refresh and both ended up with the same results. I do however see the pop up options when i check out the demo on this site, so I figure it's definitely something on my end.

I'll keep checking back if the problems in the posts above get resolved , and maybe it'll be my fix too. Any suggestion or idea is greatly appreciated =]

I am having exacly the same problem as KMWORK, it does not work with the suggested "hold down the Shift key and refresh the browser with the mouse a few times".

Any updates on this issue?

The problem is mod_security - have your host either disable it or adjust the rules because it's blocking functions (it's not only Indexhibit that has issue with mod_security).

Thank you Vaska,

RESOLVED:
I contacted my host and deactivated the mod_security.
Now it works as it should.

Hope it worked out for you as well KMWORK.

Fantastic!

It's annoying that we have this issue with mod_security but all cms's have these kinds of quirks with it. It's beyond our control.

It would be easier if they simply edited their ruleset but it seems hosts aren't doing that anymore.

KMWORK / 2012-09-24 17:49:31

It was mod_security for me too!

So I'm in, now come the fun part trying to work out how to use 2.0.

Thanks!
