possible? while you hover on a thumbnail the large real image appears
when you move off thumbnail image dissapears

obviously the thumb list should still be visable during this effect

I guess you can do this with javascript... although the format will break so you'll need clear design thinking behind this...
Have you tried the On-click Grow option of the Visual Index format?

this is what i'm currently using but have seen the alternative , its seamlessness is a beauty to behold. example at raypettibon.com

i use permalink works well
grow is to disruptive and unpredictable and does not return u to where you were
im going to try to make it work with firebugs help

there used to be a plugin that did this in the Legacy version...
The Indexhibit team is working on a few things so check back often...
