Image Size

Apologies If I have already posted, I couldn't see my question.....

I'm up-loading images which appear to be enormous when previwed. In photoshop a particular image is 40x27cm at 240px and is way too big. I changed the size to 32x21xm at 300px and once up-loaded the image was then tiny, maybe 2-3inches. I played around with the various thumbnail/image size but this didn't make any difference.
Any suggestions on how I can make the images a reasonable size?
Thanks

This is about a Legacy site and got me confused in the beginning.
When working for the web you should work in px not in centimeters, inches etc.
Your work should also be in 72dpi. Anything around 800px is more than acceptable since you should think of users with smaller screens.
If you're a photoshop user then Use the Save for Web and Devices option under the File Menu.

Hi Arsondpi

I've changed the first image in the series under 'India' to 72dpi and saved to web and up-loaded however, the image is now 2-3inches when I preview it. Again, I've changed the 'image max size' in the edit exhibition section but it's still staying the same size. Do you have any other suggestions?
Thanks

The old version only resizes when you upload it - unlike the new version that will do it every time you change the setting. You will need to reupload your image to get a different size...

I've just downloaded and installed the new version. I hope this will sort the image sizes out. Will keep you posted if not.

Thanks
