Can't edit to delete

blighty / 2012-11-05 16:28:17

I've recently up-dated to version two and trying to edit one of my exhibits. However, when I click 'edit' I'm just taken to a white blank page. All other exhibits I have managed to edit except this one.I found a thread here describing a similar problem.indexhibit.org/forum/thread/16944/

I'm quite happy just deleting this one and starting again as I'd only up-loaded a few images to this exhibit when I decided to up-date to version two anyway. I just cant edit to delete.

Thanks

Shoot, this is something we've seen before. What's happening is that your server is crashing because an image is too big for it to resize.

Are you with Godaddy perhaps?

No, unlimited web hosting.
Also, I've just tried to create a new exhibit using the same files but I'm getting 'error-files to big' their only 1-2MB?

Thanks Vaska

Yep, it's too big. It's a really annoying crash and I don't know (yet) whether it's a server issue or an Indexhibit issue. It's not normal that things crash this way...but it is yet another reason why we warn people against images that are really big.

1-2mb is HUGE for shared hosting. We used to always recommened 150k and smaller but lately people have been pushing that.

What you can do, unfortunately, is utilize PHPMyAdmin to go into the database directly and take that image causing the problem out of the database. Or, delete the exhibit itself from the _objects table.

Sorry, where is the _objects table located exactly?

I've re-sized an image to around 400k which is the lowest j-peg size I could save as and changed the max size in options.php but now I'm just getting a loading screen and it's not actually doing anything.
I've just contacted my host and apparently there are no restrictions in place from their end.

This thread has been closed, thank you.
