Need help with GIF upload

Hi there,

When uploading a GIF to my horizontal scroll exhibit it just stalls.
I've troubleshooted enough to know that I need to use Explorer to avoid any file size issues. The file is 30mb.
Any clues what else I might try to get it to work?
My site is at
blioux.com

I'm trying to upload to "COLLECTION I".

Cheers!

I'm occasionally getting the error message "Error Empty file upload result"

30Mb????
That's huge!
It wont work at all if somebody visits your page... It will take way too long.
Try to make a movie out of it. Indexhibit accepts a variety of movies plus youtube and vimeo links.

Arsondpi...do you know of a way to have movies automatically run and loop? I have Vimeo movies in my galleries now. I wanted these particular pieces to behave like moving portraits without the viewer having to press play. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! I will try a small GIF and see if I can get it to work.
Here is the GIF I was first trying to use

well you can embed a video with the classic html method: upload your video, click share and then click Customize embed options - there's autoplay and loop options that you need to check. Copy the code and paste it in your text area.

Thanks arsondpi A for the video tips-I'm going to test them today.

Still having GIF issues.

There is an animated GIF 3 image in this gallery:
blioux.com/work/collection-i/

It should look like this:
blioux.com/gifs/…

Why isn't it animating? It's definitely the same file.
Thanks again for all your help!!

Oh and the file is 244k.

Check this thread: indexhibit.org/forum/thread/17026/
I've posted a workaround though (not to be entirely trusted, but do try it): indexhibit.org/forum/thread/15272/

Yeah arsondpi A you rock!

Not perfect but to let everyone else know you need to manually replace after upload. It's the upload process that strips the animation effect.

1. Upload your animated GIF using Indexhibit
2.Go to your live gallery and see what Indexhibit named it on the upload. I don't really understand the naming convention but the upload will change your image name.
3.Rename your file locally to the same Indexhibit name.
4.Using a FTP program overwrite the GIF in your gimgs folder. Ta da!
Not perfect but it works.
