hi! I'm having trouble with using a vimeo video , I have had a search of the forum but cant come up with anything.. When I try to post the link and video size in the vimeo pluggin its telling me i dont not have permission to access the file? also when I try to paste the embed code into from my vimeo video into the txt box, it wont let me save it, so in turn not letting me publish it..

If you have any ideas on what I am doing wrong it would be greatly appreciated

okay right so i'll look into the permission side of things.. file permissions I'm guessing thats going to be the problem... Just read a post by vaska saying if your're seeing a permission based error its probably the file permissions are needing 777 - 755? Gonna get on that.

I had a look in the trouble shooting forum and found this indexhibit.org/forum/thread/15647/ its describing the same problems I am encountering.. it doesnt really go into explaining how to fix it? Being an animator I was hoping to have my video files up there streaming from vimeo but now i'm worrying that this wont be possible...

seems like a common problem that a few ppl touch on in various posts.. I have emailed the host provider to see if they might be able to help. Again any insight from you vaska would be realllly appreciated.

Just a few. The person in that other thread - I looked at their site repeatedly and I told them what the problem was (mod_security) but their host simply would not help.

You can ask your host if they have mod_security on your server and if they are seeing any flags preventing it from functioning.

Mod_security is useful but is problematic because many of the rules are arbitrary or too far-reaching where any CMS might be concerned.

I got in touch with my host and they very quickly gave me a response and that it was most likely to do with their security, they then went and put me on a whitelist which has now enabled me to use the pluggin for vimeo and also embed using the code and the txt box. verrrry happpyyy!!.. whoooop!
