Thumbnails are grey and images don't appear!

Same problem. But the images are jpegs and under or slightly above 100k. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Why is that happening?

Show us - let's see some images.

E.g. cl.ly/…

I used PNGs instead (converted the images) which seems to work but now I have to make the images's size far smaller (500px instead of 800px wide).

Vaska A / 2012-12-22 23:50:40

Some work and some don't? This is an indication that your server is likely very weak (I'm sorry to say).

meggs / 2012-12-23 20:51:57

Can't be. It's from Hosteurope. And it's less that some work and some donÄt than more like sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. PNGs seem to work all the time. With JPGs it's roulette. Maybe a problem with the file converter that creates the tumbrils and what not? I also used Wordpress and other systems on the server and they were able to upload a lot bigger files and I even been uploading large PDF files sometimes, not to speak about manual upload though the FTP client.

arsondpi / 2012-12-23 23:01:33

Uploading bigger files is a setting. You can change that in options.php (access ndxzsite/config/options.php and edit lines 11-13. No need to go higher than 400Kb...)

meggs / 2012-12-28 20:52:37

I know what but it's not about that. Please read the above comments. A JPG with less than 100 kb can't be too big.

bakerl / 2013-01-07 23:04:30

I'm experiencing a very similar problem.

After trying many different formats/syntax variables I'm unable to see any images after an apparently successful upload.

I've experienced nothing but problems since I updated to 2.0 recently, and I'm wondering if that may have something to do with this. Perhaps I missed something in the switch?

I don't really understand - did you upgrade or installed from scratch?
Are you experiencing problems with image uploads or publishing your exhibits?

Vaska A / 2013-01-08 01:02:04

1. This thread should have been closed, I guess. It's clear that the person who posed the original question had server issues with images that were too big. This is beyond our control - people need to know and learn how to deal with those particular server limitations (not upload files that are too big).

2. I'm pretty sure that the problem is not the same as the original post - you simply need to visit your exhibits via the studio and it will regenerate the images (this is normal).

bakerl / 2013-01-08 02:24:46

No, that's not it.

Still no images...

bakerl / 2013-01-08 02:25:38

I upgraded. Nothing worked. I decided to start from scratch.

Now, I am lost. Sorry this is posted in the wrong thread.

I'm closing this thread because it's gone off the original post. You can ask a question in a new thread.

This thread has been closed, thank you.
