You don't need to post in three different threads about the same thing.

Now, where and what is the problem exactly (I'm not going to look yet because there were different messages in these threads).

Sorry about that Vaska - the forum interface has acted oddly and sometimes my posts would not work out and not post - hence the confusion there.

I decided to re-install the upgrade the way it is described on the forum.
The site is up and running again - however while it seemed that the database update worked out, and the data base still exists (I just checked), I lost all of my content.
I had backed-up, however I really want to go forward with 2.01.
I very much appreciate your help here. Thanks.

The forum clearly worked because I saw your multiple posts.

New Indexhibit does not delete your old data - are you sure you are using the same database?

jf / 2013-01-12 02:36:44

I do not know how to check that - when prompted by the "yourwebsite.com/ndxzstudio/…" I used the original database name I made in 2007.

jf / 2013-01-12 02:49:10

I looked up my hosting information re: database, and there are now 2, when I would expect 1.
One is called information_shema, and the other p142rppj_Oisse (created in 2007, the one I need) -
How do I tell Indexhibit to use the latter?

arsondpi / 2013-01-12 09:47:56

you need to compare the correct database details to the details you have in the config.php file (under ndxzsite/config/config.php)

jf / 2013-01-12 15:29:56

I did, and then made a change to match the prior database details, but nothing was different in the behavior of the site.
Could this be caused by the fact that I did not remove table content prior to the second re-install?
I have read a bit about that in other strings in the forum, and like other people I am not sure on how to remove just the right amount in the database - I can see it, access it in my host control panel, but not sure how to tell what is really what?
Thanks.

Upon inspection of my database, it seems that there are 2 folders with competing information within it:
under the "ndxz_objects" are my old sections that I want to use,
and under the "ndxzbt_objects" are the new sections that I do not want.

I tried changing the extension in the config.php file to ndxz_ but that does return a non working site.

Thanks for your help.

Why would you change that - you can't change that stuff. Just let it work the way it's supposed to work...

This is how Indexhibit upgrades itself and dose not touch or harm your previous installation.

Vaska: the issue is that I am not able to get the information back from my previous site set-up after the update - and have to start from scratch which I would like to avoid.
I can see it in the old tables, however the studio interface does not access it for me to work from. How do I make that happen?

Vaska A / 2013-01-12 17:18:13

I want to look into this - can you send me all the info and I will dig into things...I need ftp and hosting login...

contact at indexhibit dot org

it's late saturday where i am so i don't know if i will get to this until monday am.

arsondpi / 2013-01-12 17:30:36

jf I deleted your post - please don't post sensitive information like this...
It can be dangerous!
I have forwarded the details to Vaska so he's gonna get to you as soon as he can.

Dough, I just noticed the email address - thanks for taking it off the forum, much appreciated. I will stay put then until I hear from Vaska and will work on content.
Thanks for your help.

Hello - were you able to have a look at what might be causing my trouble?
Thanks!

Vaska A / 2013-01-23 02:06:41

We found the problem - the install/upgrade had gone well but for some reason the main page was unpublished. This prevented anything on the site from being visible (eventhough the backend and all subsequent site pages were functional). Once fixed...all is well...
