Image uploading means uploading just the image.
To upload exif data means that there has to be a web library that keeps, gathers and arranges exif information.
Because GD strips the info - we can not control this part of GD.
The new imagick library implementation, I think, leaves it untouched.
But, we don't support exif data right now (and never have - as I mentioned previously).
