Hi All
I recently found the solution to the slow loading images in "grow". I keep having delays in "overlay", though, and wanted to ask if there is a solution for this. It takes at least two seconds to load an image (avg. size ca. 100kb).
Thanks.

as far as I know images show up using ajax, so I guess a faster server would make up for faster loading times - but then Vaska may know more about this.
Hey – thanks for the reply. As of now, it only happens with overlay so I don't think it should be the server. I have fast and reliable service so this is fairly specific. Grow was fixed deleting the "sleep" items in css – so I hope there may be a similarly easy fix for this.
I looked at some other people's websites who are using overlay and found the same loading speeds. Would be great to know if there is a possible fix to this or if I should look into another solution and try to see if I can get permalinks to do what I would like it to do...
Thank you as always.
I've posted the solution before - edit out the sleep commands - it's located in two spots.
Right now, I'm trying to get the next update to Indexhibit out the door - I'm not around the forum much at the moment (need to focus).
Thanks Vaska. That worked for "grow" – I can't find any sleep commands for overlay. But I realize that you have bigger projects than this. Cheers

Any other lag is because of image preloading (javascript) - which is dependent upon your internet speed. Image precaching (at browser load) is something that we'll do in the future...
Fantastic – works like a charm. Big difference – thanks a lot.
Interestingly, it has created a very different problem. I'll just note it here: the loading animation can now get stuck when clicking through several images quickly (whenever it does still pop up) and then remains on top of the displayed image. If and when you have time to get to this... In the meantime – good luck with the update. Really appreciate your help.

might take a few tries to replicate the problem. when you see the loading animation, it will usually stick.
Might it be possible to just delete the loading animation – wherever it may be?
It appears that you did that already?
I have been unable to reproduce the problem you are having.
Something feels weird to me here - did you try the visual index beta that is floating around the customization section?
Yes – I just found it and renamed the loading animation. That took care of it – in an improvised manner.
I have put it back to normal just in case you are curious and will get rid of it again later on.
And yes, I have the visual index beta installed.
Are you sure you updated all the files? And, did you do Shift + browser refresh to clear out the browser cache - it might help.
Yes, and I checked in different browsers. Downloaded chrome for this (to find out one of my other customizations isn't working there at all). I am guessing you still can't replicate it?
Anyway, I will update to 2.1 and we'll see. For now just getting rid of the animation works for me.
Thank you.
I'm using Chrome and I never saw the problem...
What other customization isn't working?
My little menu - should be "Images, Biography, More..." one on top of the other and next to the name (on top of the exhibit side). Biography and More... are stacked and illegible. Works fine in Safari, is a bit too low in Firefox, and Chrome apparently doesn't want to play at all. I am sure that is just shoddy html on my part – remember having some trouble getting it to work at all.
