Hi there,
I updated the indexhibit files as per instructions regarding update v73
I have created a new webspace on my host.
I have uploaded and set permissions.
When i try to install Indexhibit , I cannot get past the first page as the drop down menu for select languages does not work.
Where have i gone wrong?

Do you have access to the error logs for your site? I'm sure there is an error but they have been suppressed so we see nothing...
When you set permissions on your site did you do them one at a time or all at the same time (recursive)? I think you have a permissions issue...
I uploaded the files with file zilla
once uploaded I set the permission in File zilla individually. through file permissions

Then we need to find the error log to tell us what is happening.

Is your domain name brand new?
What it's telling us is that it can't find the files at all...
no its not brand new.
I had a website up there till yesterday.
I had an indexhibit site running behind my original site and that messed up a few weeks ago.
The only thing is new is the webspace which is a new one created for it today as i was concerned that the last one had some files in it that were causing indexhibit to not function. I have had terrible trouble with it the past few days.
Is this a host issue?

no I'm on the same webhost.
The new webspace was set up as I have had to upload indexhibit numerous times this week and each time there was a different issue. So on advice and to keep me sane I want a freah start so there would be no problems. Now i get what you see in the error messages..
And this all popped up suddenly a couple weeks ago? It sounds like the host upgraded the server and something went wrong.
It's a longshot, but ask them if they have mod_security enabled and if they could disable it for your site. See what happens...
But, the server is acting like it can find the files - which we know are there. Or, the permissions are really mixed up somehow.
I've been told that the index.php folder is trying to look for a ndxstudio folder that doesnt exist. Can you advise further from looking at the eroor messages. I will post them all below. see error at 13.31 I'm told that is the important error aout of the lot of them.

What happened a few weeks ago was i tried to install on my original webspace an indexhibit site that i was running locally. This did not go according to plan and was not uploaded. so i gave up.
I have downloaded indexhibit from the link in my login page just in case an original download had got corrupted some how.
I just cant get indexhibit to work succellly since a few weeks.
You can't upload it?
Should any files in config or cache, have their permissions changed or just the config and cache folders?
Yes I can upload it.
I can seem them clearly up on my host through File Zilla
Did you delete the files again?
Then it can only be one of two things at this point...
1 - permissions
2 - something is really not right with the server if it can't find the files (yet they are there).
No. I did not delete the files again.
I am waiting for 'mod_security' to be enabled. It can take up to an hour. Should be soon.
I was told that the install.php file are looking for a file that doesn't exist called 'ndxstudio'

Yes the DNS is set up correctly.
From the eroor message below at 17:13:09 it shows that the install is searching for a new folder called ndxz-studio inside ndxzstudio ..... 'ndxzstudio/ndxz-studio.'
Any ideas why this would change?

Do you have the files mixed up? I'm completely baffled by this...
from what i can see . No i do not have files mixed up.
The only file i cannot see straight away is htaccess. where does this file go when it is uploaded?
If something hasn't improved by Monday I'll take a look myself.
htaccess goes nowhere. When you add the . to the beginning of it though it becomes invisible - simply enable the ability to see invisible files in your FTP app.

Previosly ( on previous installs) when i would look ay the ........./… i could see the relevant blurb so knew the files were ther so to speak.
Now when i go to this address I get a page saying

I have uploaded my website and have it working somewhat.
I'm not sure what the problem was originally but i'm guessing my last 3 days problems were because it was going between two webspaces, my old one and my new created on friday.
The old is now deleted and i uploaded new Indexhibit v2.0.1 files that I downloaded fresh from your website.
It all looks like it should ,
However , I have encounterd a few issues.
1) When i ceate an exhibit section and go to Add Exhibit a pop up window appears which is the new gallery's edit page. I refresh the page , this page close and the title appears in the Indexhibit menu. not a big issue , just annoying
2) When i go to add files to eg the gallery i created I click on Add files-choose files -upload file.
the files upload as normal and then i get this notice in Safari beside each file.
Error SyntaxError: JSON Parse error: Unrecognized token '
In Firefox when i click upload it opens up a window for me to choose more files !
3) i notice there is no green P (text processing) in a box beside the save button in the edit gallery page. This has been replaced in some cases with a blue box with a question mark or sometimes its just a small number _1
4) I now have all the galleries set to Publish Off and i cannot change this.
5) when i change the gallery to Horizontal the parameters do not change from visual index so i cannot adjust the Horizontal gallery.
Whats gone wrong ?

OK,
I have now reinstalled all of the ndxzstudio folder individually.
From what i can see, This seems to have rectified my issues.
My only remaining issue now is in Firefox the blue Upload button opens a window exactly the same as the green Add Files button.
Sometimes it does upload, Curiously i have to click the button off center to the right to get it to work .
Is this common or Is there a fix for this?

That is a know bug which is going to get fixed on the upcoming update.
Until then pleasse use a different browser...
