Changing host from network solutions to godaddy issue

verges / 2013-06-11 11:45:29

HI I have recently changed my hosting account to be with godaddy, I believe to have everything loaded and pointed properly but I am getting this error message, { Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 20 bytes) in /home/content/94/11220094/html/ndxzstudio/common.php on line 296} my domain is joaquinverges.com, we have tried to expand the memory on php5.ini file but still seem to be haveing the same issue, I hope that you guys can help me get my site up and running.

Have you told your host?

verges / 2013-06-11 16:22:36

yes they had me take all the files out of the joaquinverges.com folder, which I did not do before with network solutions. Then they had me increase the 32mb to 128mb on line 139 of the php5.ini file, they said if that doesn't work it would be a scripting issue.

Does this make sense?

You probably didn't setup the database connection - /ndxzsite/config/config.php. And/or, did not transfer the database from old to new server.

{setup the database connection}
Is this basically the same step as the install process?

config.php uses the information from the details you insert in the installation proccess. So you need to set-up config.php

Hi so I did all the above and also changed the php5.ini file to php.ini.bak, it is now giving me an internal error message? I tried to login through the joaquinverges.com/ndxz/install.php and that said i was already set up as well, is this a server isuue still you think?

Vaska A / 2013-06-12 00:44:39

why are you editing the php.ini? i don't really know what to say about this...what do you pay your host for?

verges / 2013-06-12 00:58:10

they confused me with this php.ini file, which i never had with network solutions, should I remove this from the ftp?

All I can respond to is the error message you were having. If something is not right with the php.ini your host needs to step in with that.

The error message is typical when the database connection is not working - usually the db login/pwd are not right.

Did you move the database to this new server?

Vaska A / 2013-06-12 01:23:49

i'm really sorry this is difficult, but i think if you focus on what needs to be done it will be just fine. you don't need to play with the php.ini...start there. ;)

verges / 2013-06-12 01:27:24

yeah I did move it to a new server

Vaska A / 2013-06-12 02:43:11

Then something isn't right with the database connection...

- login/password are not correct
- db user does not have all privileges
- php.ini is messed up (this would not be good)

I think I may have figured this out, my back-ups to my database through my old host was not enabled, so I enabled it and am waiting the 24hrs.

HI, so I got the database working and the site live through godaddy as my host, the issue now is that all my links are not working, this is what I am getting:

joaquinverges.com/index.php/design/portfolio-1/

Hope you can help me with this one.
