Indexhibit Support

Hello!

I changed my server recently from a free to a paid one. Since I moved the site my uploaded files (mostly jpgs smaller than 200kb) didn't show on the site anymore.
Instead there are the links to the file-folder. These are dead links now, because I deleted all files from the /files folder.

When I try to upload files in the exhibit section i have the "Error File is too small" problem. I know there where threads before and suggested solutions for the problem but these don't work for me. So I ask again.

(I made links: "vor" "zurück" "alle bilder" to navigate through my "pages". Each one contained 4 pics except /fotosall where all pics showed up)

What I already did:

While trying to fix it (I thought there might be broken links or so because of the moving/copying during the server-change) I deleted all my pics manually via cyberduck. So the files are'nt really there anymore.

I downloaded the indexhibit.zip again and reuploaded the ndxstudio folder.

I checked the permissions (I had them on 755 which worked fine with the free server, changed them to 777 now cause I'm not sure if 755 works with the new server).

I tried with another browser. It's the same on Firefox and Safari.

What am I doing wrong? What else can I do? What questions should I ask my server admin?

joweb I lost track of what you were trying to do.
Nevertheless looking at your source code there seems to be other problems as well.
Certain sections are lacking a name...
Also check the page by validating it: validator.w3.org/…
Last but not least it seems that you're missing out on many images..!

yes i know. it's a bloody beginners patchwork of try and error...

but most of the errors in the validator seem to result of the missing files they refer to. That's because I deleted the files manually to reupload them.

But my initial problem is that in the indexhibit tool for the upload of files in the exhibit section i get the mentioned error message "file size too small". Which is very irritating. In fact I just wanted to know if there are other suggestions than those already posted in the other threads concerning this problem.

So if there are any propositions I would be very thankful. Maybe I just reupload the files manually (not via browser) via ftp and put them on the right folder that the links work again?

I'm pretty confused.

But thanks anyway that you took a look. And yes, once I made the site "working" I will check and validate it. Didn't know about that possibility.
