I'm using the Horizontal exhibition for one of my menu.

I wonder if there is any way to make a space between the photos.

I'm confused - in the address you posted I see the Slideshow format activated.
Anyhow in the Horizontal plugin you can adjust the space between two images via Admin>Formats>Horizontal, Options and slide the separator slider to a higher value.
