Hi All,
A couple of questions here. I'm a total newbie: Is it possible to remove the "index" content type? Is it possible to add different content types, much like one would add a custom post type in Wordpress?
Hi All,
A couple of questions here. I'm a total newbie: Is it possible to remove the "index" content type? Is it possible to add different content types, much like one would add a custom post type in Wordpress?
Care to elaborate? What do you mean?
Yeah, I don't know what you mean? Also, I know nothing about wp.
In Wordpress you can create custom post types. The default post type is "Post", i.e. for a blog. But you can create any other post type as well. For example, say you have a site for a band that lists "Albums." You can create a Custom Post type with that name and customize it in a number of ways.
Specifically, what I want to do here, I think, is remove the "index." I'm not sure about this, but it does not really make any sense ot me what an "index" is. (If someone could explain that, that would be great.) Then I might need to add some other types of content, like for example "news" or something like that. HOwever, I think I may not have fully grasped the concept behind indexhibit's CMS structure. If anyone wants to enlighten me, that'd be great. I've been having a hard time locating documentaiton that clarifies some of my questions.
Index is the *part* of the part that holds the navigation links and information.
From your index part of the page you can navigate to all these pages (or exhibits).
I suggest to start playing with things and you'll get the idea.
It's not a content type there though. You can do that simply with PHP, HTML and CSS.
Vaska A, I gather from your very last post that it is indeed possible to add custom entry/post types. I gather one would do that with the plugin framework?
Simply in the template.
But, this is not a content type - it's just CSS/HTML.
