Uploading any image - problem

wolfsuit / 2008-11-24 16:48:12

hello.

today i finally got indexexhibit to work, my host is x10hosting.com, if you know it. i am using cyberduck as my ftp..

now, i am trying to upload images to exhibits, i have tried file manager and the standard uploading tool below the text box... whenever i try to upload something, it just gives me this error:

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@mdade.x10hosting.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

now ...

a) Do I need to upload my images via FTP to a folder, eg. 'images' first, and then upload in indexexhibit?

b) i just use indexexhibit ONLY (file manager, etc..), and never upload anything to the host file manager?

c) can you tell me the best/simplest explanation for image uploading?

Thanks

...have you changed folder permissions to 777?. Give us a webaddress...

do you mean all folder permissions? i already changed the folders as-told in the installation instructions..

http://mdade.x10hosting.com is the temporary address for now...

thankyou

Is this a free hosting account? I've yet to see one where things work well...

And please don't ask the same question in multiple threads.

sorry, yes it is a free hosting account. is it really necessary to pay for one? if so, then i will use the one you have recomended in one of the tutorial sections.

sorry about posting, i'm just really excited to start and it's urgent anyway.

free hosting...sorry to say...it always has problems. i think it's probably just a gimmick to get people into paid accounts (there's nothing wrong with that either).

wolfsuit / 2008-11-25 11:57:55

okay... but, i don't really want to pay every month...

this crappy host is alright, except image uploading. can you tell me how i can fix this error?

i believe it is not a problem with indexexhibit, but the host server...have you encountered this problem before?

No, I ca'nt tell you...I don't know. You are creating more work for us...stop asking us about HOSTING problems.

This thread has been closed, thank you.
