Can't seem to get unlinked Section Titles working correctly. If i unpublish the section title, the entire section is hidden including the pages under that section.
Could it be a bug? Could anyone suggest something?

Same for me. Working with the last Indexhibit version. Hidding section or unpublishing it just hides or unpublishes everything from it.
For anybody who is having this problem as of now...Dec 18, 2018...
Download the latest files from our Github then upload the /ndxzsite/plugin/plugin.index.php to your site and it will resolve things.
How this works...
- unpublishing a section top exhibit will make just a title in the index
- hiding it via Page Options will hide the title (but show the exhibits)
- you can hide the entire section via Admin > Sections
