Oof, that's not good. I believe what is technically happening is/are the moved exhibits aren't getting the new section_id's. You can go into the database with PHPMyadmin (your webhost provides this tool) and find the records in the _objects table and set their 'section_id' to 1. Then they will reappear and you can move them to where you want.
