showed one thumbnail from each (hidden) Exhibit in that section.
when clicked they were linked (permalink) to that page.
This does not work anymore, NO Thumbnails are showing up.
I found out that my host updated mysql to 5.7. Maybe that’s why…
Any ideas?

Unhide them and see if it works.
If I unhide them (I did 5 as a test for now) it shows the text-links in the index, but NOT the thumbnails - what it did before.
Besides that, saving of unhiding behaves really strange: it does not save right away and the unhided links show up or don't in an almost random way. After a while they show up on every click.
Btw. I checked another site I helped setting up and who is hosted by another host, they run 10.1-MariaDB. And everything works just as it should.
The main nav is something that I would develop independently of Visual Index - it's not really intended to be used as your are doing so but I understand why people do that. I have a script I call 'navkit' for that - I should just release it one day because it's useful (but it's so basic many people would write this). So many things I wish I had time to do for Indexhibit.
