I forgot my password

jack / 2007-07-24 22:29:42

Is it possible to have my password & username for logging onto my site re-sent?

I've got the password for my www.indexhibit.org section, but can't remember it for my actual site.

My details are:

www.distrikt55.co.uk

email: jack@formfiftyfive.com

Cheers! :)

I can't send them to you...we don't know them.

Use PHPMyAdmin to find them...md5 a new password and edit it in the database.

Hi, sorry to bother you again, but I'm having trouble recovering this password.

How do I use PHPMy admin to find my password – should there be a file called Myadmin in my 'ndxz-studio' folder?

Sorry to be a pain in the ass!

Cheers

Jack

PHPMyAdmin allows to go into your database, and modify its contents. The login and passwword are stored in it, and you should find them and change them, it's all.

I've downloaded PHPMyAdmin, which just seems to be a folder full of PHP. files, is this correct?

One of these files is called user_passowrd.php, is this what I should be altering, or I'm I totally going down the wrong track?

This is all new to me, and I'm still very vague on how, specifically, I should be following the instructions.

Thanks again guys.

Jack

Sorry, while we suggest you use PHPMyAdmin...we can't support it here. I'm pretty sure they must have a support forum over on their site.

Many thanks Vaska

For the record, I do have a reset_password script that I will send to people upon request.

The reason we don't build these things into personal cms's is so that they don't become targets for hackers. It's recommended that you store your password information every time you update it.

Could you send me the re-set script?
Cheers,
Jonathan

Hi! im having a similar problem to people here - lost password/login (or i used one of wrong character length?!)

anyway, i want to reset my password using phpmyadmin. I can use phpmyadmin online when accessing database. however, im stumped as to what it all means! where would the password be loacted? Im not sure how to md5 for a new password - what does this mean? where do i need to go in phpmyadmin to use it?

Or.
should i just reinstall indexhibit. if so, is this a case of deleting the ndxz-studio file and just starting again? luckily i have done very little to my site so far (as you see!!) so wont lose anything much (otherwise id go for the md5 or reset script!!)

wordy
sorry
thanks!
Dan

I put the reset script on the server...

Here are the instructions.

I'm about to launch a new downloads system so this will soon be alot easier to figure out.
