Aruba, oh Aruba!

chaosroad / 2009-11-18 16:22:41

It's three days that I try to install indexhibit with italian provider Aruba.
nothing to do!

I followed ALL the installation instructions, carefully... (changed permissions too in 777)
then I stop there.

'cause when I direct on /ndxz-studio/install.php
this is the result:

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, postmaster@chaosroad.net and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

What can I do?

PS: excuse me for my improbable English

It does work very well on Aruba...I have done a couple installations on their servers.

chaosroad / 2009-11-19 10:29:43

Si certo... Php/MySql, e naturalmente hosting Linux.

Suggerimenti?

chaosroad / 2009-11-19 12:44:30

I've just solved the problem!
It was an error with permissions, on all folders and the main rows...

Now all works correctly!!

Thanks to all of you for the support :-)

ciao Chaosroad,

grazie!
Michele

Hey I've got the same problem !, Anyone could help me? Chaosraod how have u solved this problem?

thank you.

dviana83 / 2009-12-28 17:17:10

Hey no more tears... I solved the problem reading this :

http://kb.aruba.it/KB/a2172/obligatory-permissions-to-be-assigned-to-files-and-folders.aspx .

They said you need to put chmod 755 on all php files .

Thank you again.

Same problem with aruba. Aruba technical service says linux works. I also tried to change permissions as dviana83 says. But when I go to www.graphistesreunies.org/ndxz-studio/install.php the "choose language" and "NEXT" buttons don't work. Thank you for helping.

I think you're on a windows based server.
Please have a look at the "Requirements" on the "how to install" page and ask your host to transfer on the good type of server (if it's the problem).

graphistesreunies / 2010-01-11 23:54:25

merci pour la réponse ultrarapide lemathieu
I already asked my host and they told me there is no problem with my connection FTP to linux (I have a double windows+linux hosting) and I uploaded the contents of indexhibit folder in cyberduck with ftplnx.graphistesreunies.org as they told me, to differenciate the two hosts, changed the permissions to 777 etc, but www.graphistesreunies.org/ndxz-studio/install.php doesn't work - may be the problem is the double hosting?

graphistesreunies / 2010-01-12 09:32:39

I found out, this might help other aruba customers:
since I had the double hosting, I needed to change to the linux hosting in the aruba control panel WWW Host Management. Now I'm waiting for activation.
Se avete comprato un doppio hosting windows+linux: tramite il pannello di controllo contenuto nell'area clienti di
http://hosting.aruba.it e' possibile scegliere su quale sistema operativo si desidera che sia ospitato il vostro sito

hello everyone, i have prblems with aruba too. i read all the thread but could not solve the problem.
so
-i have a windows+linus host
-i set the platform to work on linus host through the admin aruba control panel
- i uploaded the indexhibit folder
- i tried to change the permissions and i noticed that all the folders are already 777
- i go the address for the install.php
-it loads the page, http://www.beadegiacomo.com/indexhibitv070e/ndxz-studio/install.php but it doesnt work.

i read again and i noticed that with aruba the php permission should be set on 755 instead of 777. so i tried to change it but i cannot! everytime i set it then i open again the file attribute and it shows me 777 again. can it be this the problem?
my client is filezilla.

anybody could help me?

thank youu

se qualcuno me lo riesce a spiegare in italiano meglio!!

grazie

Bea

start by asking aruba to switch you to a linux server and ask them to tell you which is the root folder.

beadegiacomo / 2010-08-17 11:41:25

i switched to a windows+linux host and set to work on linux. my root folder is beadegiacomo.com

arsondpi / 2010-08-17 15:57:49

beadegiacomo.com is your domain name - not your root folder.

This thread has been closed, thank you.
