Change meta description for google

Hi everyone,
I'm about to be done with my indexhibit portfolio, thanks for the tool and here is my link : Johnny brecht

I have a question concerning the way I appear in Google when I search for my page.
The main title (blue one) say something like 'welcome to ovh' and the description also concern ovh. They told me that it was a referencement issue and I need to edit my < Title > of my html pages. I tried several things on index.php but it didn't work (I mean it does change the name in safari title on the top of the window but not in google )

Where can I edit my pages' tags and descriptions in order to appear clearly in Google search ?

Thanks for your help, by the way I'm also interested in criticizes concerning the site.

Sometimes it can take weeks for Google to properly 'index' your site - you need to wait. For the moment, it's indexed with that OVH info.

You can add meta keywords and description directly to your template if you want - but Google does not rely upon these so heavily these days. There are some threads around here on this topic that I'm sure will be helpful...give the search a try.

I think it's best if you post your site to the critique section so people will recognize it's a critique thread.

Hi Vaska,

Got a problem now, I edited my index.php file (in the /sample folder)and now it doesn't appear anymore in google.

I created these lines in the file :

  1. <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"
  2.     "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
