Error 500 - Internal server error

HELP PLEASE,

I've been using the fabulous Indexhibit for some time now without problems.

Last week I amended my hosting package with 1&1 to save some money and now my site (www.dave-sweeney.co.uk) keeps throwing up:

Error 500 - Internal server error
An internal server error has occured! Please try again later.

I've tried reading through a number of other users Error 500 posts but don't seem to be getting any nearer a solution.

Does anyone have any steps that I should be checking/doing to get me up and running again? Any help is much appreciated

did you ask your host ?

They have said that the domain is pointing to the root directory "/." and gave me instruction on how to get it to point to a specific directory, I tried pointing it to "ndxz-studio" but to no avail. Should I be poining it to somewhere else?

Apologies, if this is really basic but i'm really not very savvy when it comes to this at all

Sorry guys, do you have any advice as to where I should be pointing my domain before I call 1&1 again, only they are not the most helpful lot.

Cheers

If i re-install (as per the instruction on your readme.txt file), will i lose all my site content or will it simply fix the pointing isseue?

Your domain should point to the root directory if you want indexhibit to run out of the box - thus indexhibit has to be in the root directory.
If you're having problems with installing search for the Installation for dummies post and search youtube for indexhibit - some installation tutorials over there as well.

If you wish to reinstall then reupload everything except the config folder (and of course personal themes and plugins, if you have custom stuff working in your site).

The data of your site is in your database. As I said in another post, imagine a spreadsheet file with cells - each cell contains different information from which indexhibit draws the data and renders your site.
