SimplyVertical&Centered Theme

lemathieu A / 2010-05-12 10:19:35

Back to the basics today.

Simply download it.

To activate the theme :
> unzip it and upload SVandC_theme elements to /ndxz-studio/site/ and /site/js via your ftp (inside the main "ndxz-studio" folder).
> switch to Advanced mode in Settings (if it's not already done)
> select the theme

The CSS code is commented to be easily edited and understood.
It's as simple as possible. It use the Rosse Cairn's expandingMenu so all basic exhibitions formats are working great.

Keep it basic or make this theme yours !

It would be simply great to see your use of it, so please post a link here.

And you're welcome to give feedbacks, imputs or whatever !

Thanks for this theme, I love it, currently building and customising my site and just came across a couple of problems.
1. the expanding menu isn't working on my site, i've checked the html and it is there.
2. The slideshow doesnt work either.
http://www.oliverjohnquinn.com/index.php?/advertising/uniqlo/
(all images are on first slide for some reason, they are all uploaded as separate gifs.)

Thanks for your help!

rickykappa / 2010-05-17 14:34:25

@mathieu - that's another great work! ;-)

@ollie -
1. try erasing
    expandingMenu(3);
    expandingMenu(4);
    expandingMenu(5);
    expandingMenu(6);
    expandingMenu(7);
    expandingMenu(8);
you have only 3 menu items to expand
2. did you try using .jpg instead of .gif?

olliequinn / 2010-05-17 15:01:54

Deleted those 'expandingMenu(3)-(8)' but that does nothing, i think 3-8 should apply when I add more exhibits thats why they are there.

I was using the same gif's on a different theme and the slideshow worked perfectly, I don't see why changing to .jpg would make a difference?

Thanks

rickykappa / 2010-05-17 15:21:06

this is not there:

Working now.
Thank you.

in your style css:
html, body {
background-color:#f1f1f1;}
change the color value as you wish

Rebelutionary / 2010-05-18 10:25:57

lol. ahhh, I see, I edited the wrong bit then forgot all about it, Can't believe it was so simple.

Thank you kindly. :)

@ Lemathieu - I followed your advice and downloaded SVandC.

This is a very nice theme :) Thank you for sharing it! I do need a little help though, I'm so close to what I want my final site to look like except for a couple of problems >_

This is a very nice theme :) Thank you for sharing it! I do need a little help though, I'm so close to what I want my final site to look like except for a couple of problems.

www.johnliz.com

1)
Is there any way to connect the Pre-Nav content (i.e. the logo at the top left corner) to the menu? I've been messing around for a while with the code and I think it has something to do with .top-section or #menu but other than that I'm clueless.

2)
Is there any way to have the vertical images in the content container centered rather than level with the horizontal ones?

3)
There's a bunch of space between above and below the image container that makes the page longer than I'd like, any simple way to change this?

Thanks :)

You even got break tags in your script tag. please remove them ;)

Im a complete newb when it comes to this, is there any way of showing me or helping me out in some way?

Would certainly appreciate it!

Hi!

Is there any way i can use this theme with indexhibit v2.0.1?

tanks!

arsondpi / 2012-10-22 19:32:20

Well you need to make it work for v2... which means that you have to readjust certain things - assuming of course that you know code basics.
The Indexhibit team is working on updates, formats and themes though... if you can wait... ;-)

magalifb / 2012-10-22 19:35:56

:-) i´ll wait then! thanks for answering!
